Gracious!

Let's just say it's hard to be gracious! I unplugged the garage door opener this afternoon because I was sick and tired of unexpected visits: girls with more stuff being hauled into our garage. No one told us we were going to be storing 4 womens' junk over the summer. Ughh! How am I going to get to my canning jars next month with carpet, couches, coffee table, and chairs piled high in front of the cupboard.

If I was a drinking woman, I would have had something strong! :) I vented my frustration by taking a long walk. Later at home alone I swept the floors, scrubbed the sink, and mopped the kitchen floor. Mmm, it's good to be productive when frustrated. Now for a good night's sleep under clean sheets.

God pour your love through me because I certainly am not loving and gracious right now. I can't. Praying, praying, praying. Help me to love.

Count your blessings!

It is about now, when I could easily slip into a sorrowful despondence over the future move of the Fairvilla household, that I must discipline myself to count my blessings...name them one by one.

"Do I have to?"
"Yes, Dinner Woman, it will be good for you."
"But I'd rather just sit and pout."
"Count!"

1 great house with 1 great kitchen.
2 summer gardens have yielded fruit in the backyard.
3 years, would be four this fall, I've enjoyed making this house my home.
4 roommates who were easy to live with during my stay here.
5 cars that fit in the driveway.
6 of us with 6 bunked beds. It was the greatest year and we started the blog.
7 th day of the week is the day when friends gathering round the dinner table together here at Fairvilla.
8 couches we've gone through and never had to buy.
9 types of herbs grow rapidly in the side garden.
10 ?? (someone help me out here)
11 different housemates. Each one has knocked off some of my rough edges in their own unique way.

Thank you Lord for the blessing of Fairvilla.
