Red Red Wine

Yes, that's right! The walls in our kitchen are now RED and we love it. We started around 9am and I stopped around 1:30. It's beautiful and we can't wait to start cooking in there. Estimated time of completion: 1st week of December.

Special Thanks:

To the Lord, for helping us love each other despite the many frustrations and stresses of this week and this remodel.

To Uncle D. for buying dinner, coffee, paint, and ice cream this weekend.

To creative housemates who find gracious ways to live in this house despite the recent red brick dust, missing steps, gaps under doors, and rearranged furniture.

To Son of Thunder, for helping us move all furniture 3 feet away from the windows.

To Ganahl Lumber, for not charging us for the 2 cans of paint they messed up--Barbie pink would not have been a good wall color!!

Wardrobes

and not the Narnia kind. :)

2 women of the house are going through their wardrobes, modeling clothing that has not seen daylight for several months, and trying to decide whether or not the article can be redeemed.

It makes me smile and laugh. It is a strange art to critique clothing on ones roommates' wardrobes. It is my belief that only a woman could have the patience to watch a parade of 10 sweaters, 6 tops, 2 skirts.....and offer advice after each question.

Take 3

This time it's on the light fixtures. How hard can it be to place the fixtures correctly? Obviously not easy for the workers we've got!

They say they'll be done by this week. We're all skeptics. The dishwasher will arrive soon, then in 2 weeks the countertops. The floor...who knows.

As with any remodel you find out new things that need to be replaced or worked on. This week's newest discoveries: the water heater's leaking and needs to be replaced plus the wallboard in the garage is waterlogged and must come down.

Anyone want to take in the kitchenless, soon to be hot water less, and window less Fairvilla Faithful for a couple months?? We promise to cook for you! Our patience is truly being tested, yet we're excited about the thought of splashing some type of red on the currently white walls. That will be this weekend's project.
