The only one home today
I watch and wait.

Happy Glad returns any moment now.

The house is as tidy as it can be under the circumstances. Don't ask what's under the sofas or in closets. The overhead lights don't work anywhere since the power's been cut due to the remodel. The fridge is clean.
The bed is made.
The gifts laid out.

I am anxious but
must wait!
